You can now join the Nothing Phone 1 waitlist for pre-orders

The Nothing Phone 1 will launch on July 12, and the company already confirmed that it’s using an invite system for purchases. Nothing founder Carl Pei claimed that the invite system is being used so the company can sell phones as soon as possible instead of waiting for production to ramp up.

It all suggests that the phone might be hard to find at launch and in the weeks after. But Nothing has now opened a waitlist for interested customers in several markets, including India, the UK, and Europe.

Joining the Indian waitlist

Once you’ve signed up for the waitlist on Nothing’s Indian website, you’ll be sent an invite code which will be used to secure your pre-order. You’ll also need to pay a refundable Rs 2,000 (~$26) deposit to secure the purchase.

“Then, all you have to do is wait for 12 July, login to Flipkart and select your phone model to pay the remaining amount,” the startup explained in an emailed news release, adding that users will have seven days to complete the purchase.

The Indian website also mentions “exclusive pre-order offers” without naming any specific perks. However, tipster Ishan Agarwal previously reported that the Nothing Phone 1 pre-order process for India unlocks a “special price” for a Phone 1 accessory and other exclusive offers.

What about the UK and Europe?

Meanwhile, the process for UK customers is slightly different. Sign up for the waitlist on the Nothing UK website and you’ll get an invite code along with a £20 credit to spend on Phone 1 accessories or the Ear 1 earbuds. Otherwise, you’ll receive a link on July 12 to choose your phone model and complete your purchase.

Nothing’s European websites also outline a waitlist process to buy the phone on July 12, and these consumers will receive a €20 credit for Phone 1 accessories or Ear 1 buds.
