Nulaxy Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand
Shopping for a phone or tablet stand is no easy feat. Not because there aren’t options out there, but because there are too many. A simple Amazon search will present you with an onslaught of choices with different features, made of varying materials, and at many price points. But how fancy does a tablet stand really need to be, or can it be too simple? The trick is finding the right balance between functionality, build quality, and price.
One of the latest tablet accessory units to hit our review table is the Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand. We won’t spoil the review, but after using it for some time and considering its price point, we must say it’s looking like a promising option.

What is the Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand?
The Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand is simple to understand (the definition is in the name). The accessory’s main function is to keep your 4.7-inch to 13-inch tablet or phone in place during use. This is especially helpful if you need to work on a tablet using other accessories, like a keyboard, mouse, or drawing tablet. It’s also a great tool to improve posture and avoid hunching over your screen — something we usually do when using tablets, due to their more casual form factor. You can also use it as a simple product to keep a tablet propped up around the home; in the kitchen, for example. It’s a great way to watch recipe videos when cooking.
The possibilities are endless. So, what is it that makes the Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand really special? Let’s dig into that in the next sections.
Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand design and build
This is likely where the Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand shines the most, especially considering its low price point. For a device that costs around $16, this is built surprisingly well. The aluminum alloy body weighs 12oz. It’s not exactly light, but it is pretty sturdy and solid, which is a nice combination for something that will hold an expensive piece of modern tech.
You don’t need to worry much about its heavy-duty construction damaging what the unit comes in contact with either. Strategically placed silicone padding is great at protecting both flat surfaces and your tablets. I found no scratches or damage on anything. The chosen materials make it a breeze to wipe off this accessory with any cleaning products too.

The only thing to worry about is the durability of mechanics, as this isn’t a single piece of material like many other tablet stands. Instead, it is made of multiple sections attached by hinges. Given, these articulations are pretty solid and you actually have to input a considerable amount of force to move them. It offers a good sense of security. I was pretty confident the stand wouldn’t easily fold on me and drop my devices. I also haven’t noticed it loosening up after using it for a couple weeks.
If you can find peace of mind and trust these hinges, this lack of a unibody design offers a pretty neat feature. The Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand can fold into itself and become easily portable. The whole product becomes just over an inch thick when closed. It should fit in any bag or backpack, proving to be a great road companion.
What is it like to live with the Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand?
I tend to like unibody designs in tablet stands, as they carry more weight than standard smartphone stands. The added rigidness is always welcomed too. I was a little hesitant about the Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand at first, but after some time I realized tablet stand hinges can be pretty solid, and this one is.
There was no give here, even when pushing the tablet around. The tablet and stand would fall over before I managed to make these hinges move. I had to remove the tablet and put in some force to adjust the screen angle, which takes me to my next point. One benefit this stand has over unibody ones is that you can adjust the screen height and angle. This is especially great if you switch working positions often. I use a standing desk, so being able to adjust accordingly was great.
I am not one to take a stand around different places, so the portability aspect wasn’t of great importance. However, knowing I could easily do so felt reassuring. We know many of you will appreciate this feature more.

Should you buy the Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand?
Some tablet stands are better looking, and some even include advanced mobility (swiveling, orientation, etc.). That’s all great to have, but for about $16 you will be hard-pressed to find a better deal than the Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand. It does what it promises, does it very well, and does it affordably.
To top things off, it can be easily carried around thanks to its foldable structure. While one would assume this affects build quality, we haven’t seen any issues arise yet (I will update this post if I notice anything later on). It’s a solid and functional option we are happy to recommend. I honestly haven’t found anything negative to say about it, other than maybe that the bold black coloring may not look great on every desk.
