TL;DR
  • NVIDIA founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, was spotted using the Galaxy Z Fold 8 at a recent event in Los Angeles.
  • Huang was previously spotted using the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which he reportedly received as a gift from the Samsung Electronics chair.
  • Both Samsung and NVIDIA have collaborated for three decades, and the two juggernauts are currently partnering on multiple projects, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM).

Apple recently entered the foldable segment with the iPhone Duo, inviting comparisons to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. While Apple has yet to ship its foldable to customers, Samsung’s offering has been on the market for a few weeks. Now, one of the tech industry’s leading figures has been spotted using the Galaxy Z Fold 8, possibly as their daily driver.

During the All-In Summit in Los Angeles, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang received a call from US President Donald Trump live on stage (via Chosun Biz). Huang then put the call on speakerphone and turned the phone toward the audience, revealing a standard phone call interface on the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

As Chosun Biz notes, Samsung Electronics chief Lee Jae-yong gifted Huang a Galaxy Z Fold 7 last year. However, it’s unclear whether that’s the case with the recently sighted Z Fold 8.

The camaraderie between the two companies shouldn’t come as a surprise, given the fact that Samsung and NVIDIA have worked together for three decades. Today, that collaboration extends to AI infrastructure, robotics, and high-bandwidth memory (HBM), among other areas.

A high-profile figure like Huang using the Z Fold 8 will no doubt be welcome news for Samsung, as it tries to establish a foothold ahead of the iPhone Duo’s arrival late next month.

Meanwhile, Samsung is also running a marketing campaign to get iPhone users to switch to a Galaxy device. Only time will tell whether the company succeeds.
