NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1 gets June security patch, Professional Audio requirements and more
NVIDIA is rolling out an update to its Shield Tablet K1 that brings a number of notable improvements to the tablet’s software.
The big news with this version 1.3 update is the addition of Android 6.0 Professional Audio requirements, such as low latency audio (<20ms continuous round trip), MIDI support over USB and Bluetooth LE, 24-bit@192kHz Stereo and 7.1 HDMI output, as well as USB Host and Peripheral modes.
There’s also a new option to toggle the location of the navigation button, improvements to touch responsiveness, fixes to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and enhancements and fixes to Vulkan API.
Security is also a big focus with this update. Version 1.3 comes with the June 2016 Android security patch, as well as overall stability and security improvements.
Version 1.3 should be rolling out as we speak, so head to your device’s Settings menu to check for the update.
