OnePlus 10R launches: A riff on the OnePlus Ace, which is a realme GT Neo 3...
- OnePlus has announced the OnePlus 10R for India.
- The phone is essentially a rebranded version of the China-only OnePlus Ace.
- The phone starts at INR 38,999 (~$509) and will be available for general sale on May 4.
OnePlus launched the OnePlus Ace last week, which was a rebadged realme GT Neo 3. Between the upper mid-range silicon, 120Hz FHD+ OLED screen, fast charging, and ~$387 price tag, there was a lot to like about the phone.
Unfortunately, the OnePlus Ace was a China-only release. However, the company has just announced the OnePlus 10R, and it’s indeed a rebranded OnePlus Ace.
OnePlus 10R: Specs and features
Starting with the OnePlus 10R, it’s mostly identical to the OnePlus Ace. That means you’re getting that neat two-toned rear cover, featuring a striped pattern on the left-hand side and a smooth finish on the right. The similarities are only just beginning though.
This latest OnePlus phone serves up a Dimensity 8100-Max processor, a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED screen (20.1:9, Gorilla Glass 5, HDR10+), and a triple rear camera system. The latter consists of a 50MP IMX766 main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens (119.7-degree field-of-view), and a 2MP macro shooter. A 16MP camera is on tap for selfies and video calls.
Much like the OnePlus Ace and realme GT Neo 3, the OnePlus Ace is also available in two variants. There’s a variant with 80W charging and a 5,000mAh battery, as well as a model with 150W charging and a 4,500mAh battery. The latter, which is helpfully known as the OnePlus 10R with 150W SuperVOOC Endurance Edition, also promises to retain 80% of its battery capacity after 1,600 charging cycles. So you should only see major degradation after roughly four years.

Either way, you’re getting fast charging here. The 80W version promises a 1-100% charge in 32 minutes, while the 150W variant promises to go from zero to 100% in 17 minutes.
One major area of differentiation is in the software arena. The OnePlus 10R ships with Oxygen OS 12.1 atop Android 12, compared to the Ace and realme GT Neo 3 offering Color OS in China.
A sweet cherry on top of the software cake is that the phone will receive three “major” Android OS updates and four years of security patches.
Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 6.
Price and availability
The OnePlus 10R with 80W charging starts at INR 38,999 (~$509) for the 8GB/128GB model, while the 12GB/256GB variant retails for INR 42,999 (~$561). Expect to find the phone in Forest Green and Sierra Black colorways.
Meanwhile, the 150W version starts at INR 43,999 (~$574). It only comes in one colorway and memory configuration: Sierra Black with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Either way, the phone will hit general sales on May 4, 2022. You can find it at OnePlus.in and Amazon.in as well as a few other third-party retailers. It is unlikely this phone will hit markets other than India, as other “R” phones have always been India exclusive.
