Goodbye Oxygen OS, hello Color OS: OnePlus 15 is now getting stable Android 17

OnePlus has kicked off the stable Android 17-based Color OS 17 rollout for its flagship OnePlus 15, beating its own previously announced release timeline. The company had officially scheduled the rollout to begin on October 29, but OnePlus’ own announcement and multiple user reports confirm that stable builds are already arriving on retail units following a brief OnePlus 15 Color OS 17 Open Beta period. This early surprise push aligns with the broader Color OS 17 rollout schedule for OnePlus and realme, and marks the first official Oxygen OS-to-Color OS rebranding update.

According to a OnePlus Community announcement as well as user reports on Reddit, the stable update is showing up on the OnePlus 15 (model number CPH2745). Users who participated in the open beta track appear to be among the first to receive the official OTA transition, moving their phones from preview software to the stable release.

Color OS 17 introduces extensive visual refinements and system-level performance upgrades built on top of Android 17. Alongside revamped fluid animations, enhanced quick-settings panels, and deeper system customization, the update delivers updated privacy controls and improved background process optimization designed to maximize battery efficiency on OnePlus’ top-end hardware.

As is standard with major Android version bumps from the OPPO ecosystem, OnePlus is deploying the update in incremental stages. Only a small percentage of users will spot the update notification immediately, with wider global availability ramping up over the coming days once the update is deemed stable enough. If you own an eligible device, head over to Settings > About device > Color OS to check for the update manually.

The OnePlus Pad 4 also joins the first wave of devices receiving the Color OS 17 update, which is now rolling out, as per this OnePlus Community announcement. The OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 13, and OnePlus 13s are next in line, and we’re crossing our fingers for an early release for them too.
