OnePlus has a 45W liquid cooling system accessory for smartphones
- At MWC 2023, OnePlus showed off the new OnePlus 45W Liquid Cooler.
- The device snaps onto your phone and automatically begins cooling the CPU.
- There is no information on pricing or availability yet.
Earlier today, OnePlus launched the OnePlus 11 Concept, which features a built-in liquid cooling system. While that’s an interesting development, it doesn’t really help smartphone gamers since that phone will never see a commercial release.
To satiate gamers looking for smartphone cooling solutions, the OnePlus 45W Liquid Cooler could be a good option. Revealed today at Mobile World Congress 2023, the mobile accessory snaps onto the back of your smartphone and uses a liquid cooling agent to keep your phone from getting too toasty.
Cooling the CPU during heavy gaming sessions could help keep battery consumption in check and keep framerates high. This could be the difference between winning and losing for serious and competitive gamers.
OnePlus 45W Liquid Cooler
The liquid cooler is made up of two parts. The first is a smartphone clamp that snaps onto the back of your phone. A cable connects that to the second part, which is a small box about the size of a modem. As soon as you connect your phone to the device, it automatically turns on and starts cooling.
We gave this a shot ourselves and were very impressed. After only about 10 seconds on the back of the phone, we could feel the device turning cold. The back of the phone felt ice cold when we removed it from the clamp. OnePlus claims the cooler could reduce temps by up to 20 degrees Celsius (about 36 degrees Fahrenheit).
Unfortunately, OnePlus had no information about pricing or availability for the OnePlus 45W Liquid Cooler. We’ll be sure to keep you posted once the company gives us more information.
