OnePlus 6 Android P Developer Preview beta 2 lands with Google Lens support
OnePlus has launched the Android P Developer Preview beta 2 for the OnePlus 6. The update was spotted on Baidu by an XDA Forums member and is now live in the OnePlus forums.
The update is said to deliver all of the Android P beta 2 features you would expect — like new notifications, emojis, and animations — and some OnePlus-exclusive extras.
XDA notes that OnePlus has added new Ambient Display settings as well as custom accent settings so you can select your own notification LED and menu colors. With the Beta 2, OnePlus also included the ability to hide the notch, and made Google Lens available in the onboard camera app (after starting to roll out to other OnePlus phones last month).
Full-screen gestures are up-and-running on the OnePlus 6 too, but the rest of the update seems to be made up of minor improvements and bug fixes; the changelog can be found below:
- System
– Fixed FaceUnlock not functioning issue - Camera
– Fix camera stability issue - Application
– Fix compatibility issue for apps - Known issues with build
– Wi-Fi SoftAP Device Manager not functional
– Camera portrait mode doesn’t work
– Widevine L1 is temporarily unavailable
If you want to flash the Android P beta 2, you can find the download and English instructions at OnePlus — just be aware that it will wipe all of your data, so don’t forget to make a backup.
If you check out the new beta, let us know what you think of it in the comments.
