Update (04/03/18 at 11:50 A.M.): OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed on Chinese site Weibo that the OnePlus 6 will come with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. This is the first OnePlus device to come with that processor and that much storage, but not the first device to have 8GB of RAM. That honor goes to the OnePlus 5, which came in two versions — one with 6GB of RAM and one with 8GB.

Original article: We’ve seen plenty of news regarding the OnePlus 6 thus far, and now, the firm has teased the device’s power and name.

The company posted a short clip on Twitter, touting the number “6” and a tagline of “the speed you need”.

The former alludes to the expected OnePlus 6 moniker, while the latter suggests a top-end Snapdragon 845 chipset and plenty of RAM — it’s certainly not suggesting a quad-core budget chip and 1GB of RAM.

It’s not the only recent nugget of info from the firm, as OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei told The Verge that the upcoming phone would have a notch. In fact, Pei called on users to “learn to love the notch”, despite widespread opposition to cutout displays.

As for the design? Serial leaker Evan Blass has published an image, showing what appears to be a unique finish and a similar camera/fingerprint setup as the Galaxy S9+. But the real kicker for some might be the presence of a headphone jack.

We’ve also seen the device apparently make a stop at the Wi-Fi Alliance (h/t: r/Android), touting Android 8.1 and OxygenOS 5.1.

There’s no word on a reveal date, but the fact that OnePlus is starting to promote the OnePlus 6 means we can’t be months away.
