OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition with 10GB RAM and faster charging zooms into India
OnePlus has launched its new special edition flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, in India.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen several Chinese OEMs partner with automotive companies to offer special edition devices for fanatics with deep pockets. HUAWEI has Porsche Design, OPPO has Lamborghini, and now OnePlus has a partnership with McLaren.
Launched in partnership with McLaren, the popular British Formula One team, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition differs from the standard edition by offering 10GB of RAM and a new 30-watt charging technology, dubbed as ‘Warp Charge’, that promises a day’s power in 20 minutes.
Otherwise, we’re looking at the same internals as the top variant of the OnePlus 6T. So that means a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 256GB of storage, a 3,700mAh battery, in-display fingerprint sensor, a 16MP+20MP rear camera pairing, and a 16MP selfie snapper.
Of course, like all special edition smartphones, there are visual changes to the device. The McLaren edition features a black carbon fiber design with orange elements around the rim. The phone is apparently modeled after a McLaren MCL33, one of the team’s F1 car.
Priced at ₹50,999 ($710), the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will go on sale in India starting December 13 exclusively at the new OnePlus Experience Store in New Delhi and will be available for open sale starting December 15 across all official online and offline sales channels.
