OnePlus 7 Pro cameras against trees

A pet peeve of OnePlus 7 Pro users is the inability to use the wide-angle and telephoto cameras to capture video. The company confirmed back in July that it was working on bringing Nightscape and video recording to the additional cameras in a future update.

Fortunately, the Android 10 Open Beta for the phone brings support for a range of new camera modes that work across all three sensors on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

As promised, alongside telephoto/wide-angle video capture, you can now use Nightscape in wide-angle mode. Meanwhile, the portrait mode now lets you get closer to the subject via zoom. Finally, user reports suggest that video stabilization has also received a significant upgrade.

Android Police reports that installing the latest OnePlus camera APK doesn’t bring any of these enhancements to users running the current stable Android Pie build of Oxygen OS. However, OnePlus is usually quick to update phones with the latest version of Android, so you shouldn’t have to wait too long to enjoy these camera enhancements as well as all the new features from Android 10.
