OnePlus 7 appears in renders, but where's the pop-up camera?
A new set of renders, allegedly based on the upcoming OnePlus 7, have emerged online via Pricebaba and @OnLeaks. The images show off all angles of the handset ahead of its suspected unveiling on May 14.
The pictures suggest the handset will have a dual rear camera setup, a near bezel-less display with waterdrop notch, bottom-firing speakers, USB-C connectivity, and a curved glass rear. The lack of a visible fingerprint sensor also suggests this will be buried in the display as on the OnePlus 6T.
A 360-degree video accompanied the new images, embedded below.
Based on this latest development, it seems the previous OnePlus 7 renders we saw in March may, in fact, depict the OnePlus 7 Pro model. The standard variant seemingly won’t include the Pro model’s pop-up camera, and have one less camera on the rear.
The OnePlus 7 looks like a rather squat device in the images, but it’s said to have the same dimensions as the OnePlus 6T, albeit 0.1mm thicker at 157.7 x 74.8 x 8.1mm (or 9.5mm thick if you include the rear camera hump). Given these dimensions, it’s unlikely that the phone will include a much larger battery than the 3,700mAh cell found in the OnePlus 6T.
We don’t have any confirmed OnePlus 7 specs yet but it will probably include a Snapdragon 855 chipset and at least 6GB of RAM. Based on what we know right now, it feels like the OnePlus 7 may be more like a OnePlus 6T version 2.0, with the more significant upgrades being reserved for the OnePlus 7 Pro model.
