OnePlus 7T to run Android 10 out of the box, will have Google apps too!
OnePlus has been gradually trickling out new info about the OnePlus 7T leading up to the launch later this week (Thursday, September 26). The latest tidbit is confirmation that the phone will be pre-loaded with Android 10 out of the box.
The Chinese brand says it’s the first OEM to roll out a new phone rocking Android 10. The slight caveat, which OnePlus happily acknowledged in a press release, is that it’s only the first phone pre-loaded with Android 10 that also has Google’s core apps and services.
I can’t decide if that’s a simple disclaimer to avoid the “but HUAWEI did it first” complaints, or a bit of shade thrown at the Google Mobile Services-less Mate 30 Pro. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Regardless, this is great news for OnePlus 7T buyers who will get all the latest Android features as soon as they switch the phone on.
The handset will also come with all of OnePlus’ custom tweaks for Android 10 via its OxygenOS skin. These include unique gesture controls, a funky customization menu, Game Space, and much more that you can read about here.
OnePlus has been on the forefront of the Android 10 rollout having been among the first to bring builds to beta testers and more recently having delivered the stable release to OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 owners.
As for the OnePlus 7T, we’re still hoping there will be at least some surprises left at the launch in India — maybe that’s being left to the TV? — but there’s no doubting it’s shaping up to be an impressive, if iterative, upgrade over the OnePlus 7 series.
