Official OnePlus 8T video shows new camera module, Aquamarine color
- Today, OnePlus posted an official video that gives us a full look at the upcoming OnePlus 8T.
- The video shows off the new rear camera module design as well as a new colorway, Aquamarine Green.
- OnePlus will officially launch the phone next week on October 14.
Today, at the official OnePlus forums, the company’s CEO Pete Lau published a new post that gives a ton of details on the next phone from the company. In a brief YouTube video, the company showed off the full design of the OnePlus 8T, a phone that OnePlus hasn’t launched yet.
The video gives us a clear look at the new camera module design of the 8T. It also shows a new colorway, which OnePlus calls Aquamarine Green.
We’ve mirrored the video above. Once again, this is not a leak: this is an official video posted by the CEO of OnePlus.
OnePlus 8T: Welp, that’s what it definitely looks like
The company giving away this much detail on an upcoming smartphone is uncharacteristic for the brand. Usually, OnePlus guards everything in total secrecy. Yet, here we are, with a video that likely will be the centerpiece of the upcoming launch event posted nearly a week early through official channels. I guess anything can happen in 2020.

Regardless, the OnePlus 8T looks a bit different from the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, at least on the back. The new camera module doesn’t look at all similar to those phones or even the most recent launch from the brand, the OnePlus Nord. Instead, this looks more like the module we saw on the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE.
Interestingly, the Galaxy S20 FE is probably going to be the main competition for the 8T. We expect the two phones to share very similar specs and possibly even similar prices. That the phones will now look very similar, too, is just icing on the cake.
OnePlus will officially launch the 8T on October 14. Stay tuned for more info.
