What do you think about a software key to replace the alert slider on OnePlus phones?
OnePlus explained that while the alert slider looks small from the outside, it occupies ample space inside the phone. For this reason, the company decided to let go of the hardware element in favor of a larger vapor chamber and more antennas.
A tipster previously suggested that OnePlus plans to limit the alert slider to its Pro models. The company’s mothership OPPO and sister-brand realme are also reportedly planning to include it on their phones.
OnePlus didn’t acknowledge the rumors at the media briefing. But for all we know, they might be true. All this talk of bringing back the alert slider could just be the company’s way of confirming that we’ll see the button on future OnePlus Pro phones.
