OnePlus just revealed a launch window for OnePlus Z
- OnePlus has confirmed the launch timeline for the OnePlus Z/Nord.
- The company revealed the launch month in morse code.
- There’s no set date yet, but the phone will launch in just a few weeks.
We’ve been waiting a long time for OnePlus to finally announce the OnePlus Z launch date. It was March when early rumors started floating around about the OnePlus 8 Lite. Soon, tipsters suggested that the phone will be called the OnePlus Z and now, some believe that it’ll be named the OnePlus Nord. Whatever the new phone’s moniker might be, OnePlus has now confirmed that it’s coming in July.
Taking to its new OnePlusLiteZThing Instagram account, the company posted a teaser in morse code (see image below). Decoding it reveals the word “July,” all but confirming that the OnePlus Z/OnePlus Nord will launch next month.
A leak previously revealed that the affordable OnePlus phone will launch in India on July 10. OnePlus has already confirmed that the device will be introduced in India and Europe, so a July 10 launch seems quite believable.
It looks like OnePlus will reveal more information about the launch of the phone through subsequent code-cracking challenges on Instagram. This one was named “Crack the Code #1,” so we expect more of these to follow.
It’ll be interesting to see how the company handles sales of the new phone and that if it can meet the demand for it. Considering it’ll be a mid-range phone, the interest in it could be pretty high. But OnePlus is already having trouble getting the OnePlus 8 series in people’s hands. The flagship phones are still hard to buy in markets like India because of the company’s flash sale model. We hope the company has readied enough stock of the OnePlus Z/Nord before it makes any release date commitments.
