- OpenAI is experiencing elevated error rates across ChatGPT, Codex, and API.
- The company warns that users may experience “failed requests, difficulty logging in or signing up, and tasks that do not complete.”
- The outage appears to have started at around 2:00 PM ET.
ChatGPT won’t be able to help you with your query at the moment. The chatbot is down, and so are a couple of other OpenAI services. OpenAI confirms its services are currently experiencing degraded performance.
Over on the OpenAI status site, the company says that ChatGPT, Codex, and APIs (including the Agents API) are experiencing elevated error rates. As a result of this degraded performance, OpenAI warns that users may run into “failed requests, difficulty logging in or signing up, and tasks that do not complete.”
It appears that the outage started around 2:00 PM ET. On a positive note, the company says that it is investigating the issue. It’s unclear how long it will take for a fix to be rolled out.
We’ll keep an eye on the situation. As soon as OpenAI says that its services are back online, we’ll update this article.
