- OPPO has revealed features of stable ColorOS 17 ahead of next week’s Find X10 series launch.
- ColorOS 17 brings improved translucent features that use fewer resources.
- It also adds improved AI Mind features, including agent support and a natural-language photo-editing tool.
OPPO’s flagship Find X10 series recently launched in China and is said to launch globally very soon. OPPO has confirmed October 21 as the launch date and recently gave us a first look at the international variant. Today, OPPO is sharing details about Color OS 17, its next-generation Android 17-based software experience, which arrives first with the Find X10 series.
Color OS 17 continues the translucent look we’ve seen in recent Color OS versions. Alongside making elements a tad more translucent and leaning into Apple’s Liquid Glass territory, OPPO is working to make rendering more efficient. The improved “Luminous Rendering Engine” now using 30% fewer resources than previous Color OS versions. Meanwhile, the “Laminar Flow Engine” ensures app previews load 50% faster while using less RAM. OPPO claims these optimizations leave more room for apps to stay active in the background.
Together, these features create a smoother user experience, which OPPO calls “Living Flow Design.” When you swipe between different screens, especially similar interfaces such as the notifications panel and the control center, you will notice a bouncy animation signifying fluidity.
Along with visual enhancements, OPPO is adding more capabilities to AI Mind, its suite of built-in AI second-brain and personal-assistance features. This includes improvements to the AI Mind Pilot, which in previous versions let users perform deeper research on snaps saved in the AI Mind Space. Now, OPPO is adding agentic support, where an agent helps you sort files on your phone, organize media into event-based folders, or create plans, book flights, or work on documents right from the phone.
OPPO insists that most of the indexing happens on the device, and any files or information sent online requires explicit approval from the users. For agentic capabilities, OPPO now allows access to third-party models from OpenAI and Manus through an API.
Beyond these, OPPO adds a new AI Photo Agent feature that will let you edit photos using semantic commands, similar to what Google Photos offers with “Help Me Edit.” Other than that, users will also be able to use other edited images as references or style guides for the feature to implement on input shots.

Color OS 17 also promises to detect whether a voice in a call or a person’s video in a video call has been fabricated using AI. This detection feature is called AI Call Guard.

Color OS 17 global release schedule
These new features are expected to arrive as part of the stable ColorOS 17 interface alongside the OPPO Find X10 series when it launches in Barcelona next week. OPPO is also sharing a timeline for the launch of stable Color OS 17 across various devices. The first crop of flagship phones from OPPO, including the Find N6, Find X9 series, Find N5, Find X8 series, and the Reno 16 series, will get their update by the end of October. A

Meanwhile, OPPO and sub-brand OnePlus are already allowing users to enroll select devices in an open beta ahead of the release on their respective devices, and you can already request to try the update.
