You can never anticipate when poor lighting conditions might keep you from snapping the perfect shot.

Night shooting with a smartphone is always challenging, regardless of your expertise. You’ll often get dark, blurry images that fail to capture the mood and detail of the moment. If you don’t want your memory-making to be hampered by the night, you need a smartphone that can deliver results no matter what the lighting condition is.

OPPO has created a solution of its own with the powerful MariSilicon X NPU and a line-up of advanced hardware on the OPPO Find X5 Pro. Innovations on this device have led to massive gains in both hardware and software technology that unleash the full potential of low-light photography.

Gear up for the night with MariSilicon X

MariSlicon X

Leaps in artificial intelligence and custom-built imaging systems have given smartphones a boost in night shooting in the last few years. However, there are still many situations where a smartphone camera fails to follow up in terms of details, noise, and exposure. Low-light parties or sunset vistas can be nearly unphotographable.

That’s where OPPO’s MariSilicon X NPU comes into the game. Based on a 6-nanometer process and super-efficient AI computing power, the OPPO Find X5 Pro will save your night with both still images and motion videos.

4K Ultra Night Video

Artificial Intelligence Noise Reduction

You can always rely on the Find X5 Pro to capture your liveliest memories. The powerful computing power of MariSilicon X backs up the real-time RAW processing of the OPPO Find X5 Pro, making 4K night video possible. The 4K Ultra Night Video mode unleashes the full potential of an advanced AI-noise reduction algorithm (AINR) and 3DNR to minimize noise and maximize detail and dynamic range. For those not in the know, 3DNR compares adjacent frames to best represent the motion of the real world. With the OPPO Find X5 Pro’s 4K Ultra Night Video mode, you will get pristine low-light pictures.

Ultra HDR Photography and video

The MariSilicon X’s HDR fusion algorithm allows for up to 20-bit, 120dB dynamic range. This is four times greater than the OPPO Find X3 Pro, released only one year earlier. This technology enables a brightness contrast ratio of 1,000,000 to 1, bringing out foreground details without obliterating those in shadow.

SLR-level-5-axis OIS and DOL-HDR

Camera System 1

Some smartphone cameras handle nighttime video just fine while you’re standing still, but OPPO wanted to do one better. The Find X5 Pro debuts SLR-level-5-axis OIS, which combines 2-axis lens-shift with 3-axis sensor-shift to compensate for those moments when the cameraperson is part of the action.

On top of that, the OPPO Find X5 Pro employs the IMX766 sensor that supports DOL-HDR to capture two frames concurrently for real-time HDR imaging and 4K video free of ghosting artifacts. The power of MariSilicon X has made this possible. The OPPO Find X5 Pro generates sharp pictures and videos out of multiple exposures. Anywhere you travel with your OPPO Find X5 Pro at night, you will have vivid photos and videos to remember the moment.

OPPO’s MariSilicon X Imaging NPU isn’t the only key to the Find X5 Pro’s photographic success. The device also features true glass lenses rather than the more common plastic alternative, reducing chromatic aberration by 77%. This applies to the dual 50MP main cameras which are wide and ultra-wide, ensuring maximum consistency and color accuracy.

As for selfie lovers, the Find X5 Pro features a customized Sony IMX709 sensor capable of capturing up to 60% more light. It’s also smart enough to swap between an 80-degree field of view and a 90-degree one as it senses friends joining the frame.

The team also brought in engineers from Hasselblad to perfect the OPPO Find X5 Pro’s color recreation. This results in a camera array tuned with Hasselblad’s Natural Color Calibration as well as a clever set of Master Filters to get your color profile just right.

OPPO has taken a big step into the future of smartphone photography and videography with these low-light shooting capabilities. The MariSilicon X NPU works alongside powerful camera hardware to process images and videos in real time.
