OPPO turned heads last month when it announced 65W charging, making it the fastest wired charging solution in the industry. It wasn’t a far-off prospect either, as the company then announced that its upcoming OPPO Reno Ace would be the first phone with the technology.

Now, the company has launched the Reno Ace in China, and it’s indeed the fastest charging phone on the planet. The Chinese brand says the Reno Ace’s 4,000mAh battery can be fully charged in just 30 minutes. In fact, a five minute charge can take the phone from zero to 27% capacity. The phone also supports USB-PD and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge protocols.

Oppo’s phone is a beast in the power stakes too, delivering a Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. This in turn drives the 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen, packing a 90Hz refresh rate much like stablemate OnePlus‘s recent phones. This isn’t quite a full-screen design though, as we’ve got a 16MP selfie camera in a waterdrop notch here.

Speaking of the cameras, the OPPO Reno Ace serves up a 48MP primary camera (IMX586), 8MP ultra-wide lens (116 degree field of view), a 13MP telephoto shooter with 5x hybrid zoom, and a 2MP monochrome sensor.

Other notable features include Game Boost 2.0 tech for smoother gaming, ColorOS 6.1, a 3.5mm port, NFC, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The OPPO Reno Ace will be available in Psychedelic Purple and Starry Blue. The device starts at 3,199 yuan (~$450) for the 8GB/128GB model, 3,399 yuan for the 8GB/256GB variant (~$478), and 3,799 yuan (~$534) for the 12GB/256GB option. However, the company has also announced promotional pricing of 2,999 yuan (~$422) and 3,199 yuan (~$450) for the first two models respectively.

These aren’t the only versions available though, as the company has also revealed a Gundam Edition to mark the franchise’s 40th anniversary. We’re not sure about availability and pricing of this model, but you can check out the video clip above for a better idea of what it looks like.
