ASUS unloads tons of ROG gear at its Rise of Gamers event at CES 2022
- ASUS ROG just announced new Strix laptops and peripherals.
- The updates include brand-new Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA hardware.
- Pricing and release details remain limited, unfortunately.
The ASUS ROG launch for CES 2022 felt like a trip to mission control. It featured appearances from most of the company’s verticals, yet the products themselves did most of the talking. There are new launches for everything from accessories to monitors and a full Strix refresh.
ASUS ROG gaming monitors
First up, we have a new suite of massive gaming monitors — 42 and 48 inches, to be specific. The ROG Swift OLED monitors offer a micro-texture coating to keep glare to a minimum and offer 900 nits of peak brightness, so you don’t miss a detail. You’ll also find HDMI 2.1 support and native 4K with a 120Hz refresh rate.
ASUS announced the new ROG Swift 360Hz monitor for those interested in eSports. It comes in at 27 inches across with a 1440p resolution and NVIDIA G-Sync support. The display also refreshes from both corners simultaneously for a smoother overall result.
ASUS ROG Strix updates
The next stage in the ASUS ROG show also served as the main event — new gaming laptops. Up first was the ROG Strix SCAR, which is designed with eSports in mind. It tops out at a 12th-Gen Intel Core i9-12900H processor with the brand-new GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU. All new ASUS ROG launches include a MUX switch, allowing for a high-end GPU performance matched to the refresh rate.
It comes in 15- and 17-inch configurations with Quad HD 240Hz and Full HD 300Hz options. All versions also support Dolby Vision HDR and a 3ms response time.

The new ROG Strix G15 and G17 offer up to an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor with the same RTX 3070 Ti GPU onboard. If you opt for the smaller machine, you can choose between a Full HD 300Hz panel or a Quad HD 165Hz one. The larger laptop offers a Full HD 360Hz panel or Quad HD 240Hz option.
The new ASUS ROG Strix G-series laptops come in Eclipse Gray, Volt Green, and Electro Punk color options.
ASUS ROG Zephyrus updates
After the smash success of the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14, it was time for an update. The new machine packs the same 14-inch display size with a 16:10 aspect ratio. However, the most significant updates come under the hood. The new Zephyrus G14 packs up to an AMD Ryzen 9 6000 series processor with Radeon RX 6000S mobile graphics and a MUX switch.
ASUS boosted the AniMe matrix as well, soaring to 14,969 holes and 1,449 mini LEDs for more control over your customization. The Zephyrus G14 is among the first to sport the new Nebula displays, which offer 120Hz refresh rates and Quad HD resolutions with 500 nits of peak brightness.
Of course, the new flagship launch of the day was the Zephyrus Duo 16. It brings back the ScreenPad Plus for extra control with a brand-new design. The secondary display now lifts up to a 13-degree angle that minimizes the gaps between your keyboard and the main display.
It carries an AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX processor, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics, and a new Nebula HDR panel. The Nebula HDR packs the same key features as the Nebula, with 512 Mini-LED dimming zones and up to 1,100 nits of peak brightness. It also brings a 165Hz refresh rate and a 16:10 ratio.
New ASUS ROG Flow Z13
The penultimate ASUS ROG launch of the day brought gaming tablets back in a big way. The Flow Z13 takes the form of a 13-inch tablet, yet it packs an Intel Core i9-12900H processor with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics and LPDDR5 memory onboard.
Further, you can choose between a 4K 60Hz display or a Quad HD 120Hz panel. Both offer 16:10 ratios and 500 nits of peak brightness.
New accessories
ASUS ROG’s final launch in its Rise of Gamers event was the new Fusion II 500 and Fusion II 300 headsets. Both feature virtual 7.1 surround sound with AI-powered beamforming microphones. The arrays work together to separate your voice from the background sound for clearer team-based communication.
In fact, the two headsets are identical in almost every way. However, the Fusion II 500 packs a clever Game Chat Volume Control wheel for extra control. You can turn the dial to balance sound between your teammates’ chatting and the action itself.
Moving beyond the headsets, ASUS ROG announced the Strix Flare II Animate keyboard. It incorporates the beloved AniMe Matrix LED for notifications right on your keyboard. More importantly, ASUS is showing the DIY community some love with easily swappable switches so you can customize your perfect feel.
