HUAWEI P30 series is most popular ever, ships 16 million units
Huawei’s P series has generally been a great performer for the company, covering both the mid-range and flagship segments. Now, the Chinese manufacturer has revealed that the P30 range is its most popular P series ever.
HUAWEI announced on Twitter that the P30 series hit 16.5 million units shipped in six months, adding that it represented global sales growth of 53 percent.

It’s a big achievement in light of the U.S. trade ban, although we didn’t get a breakdown of Western and Chinese sales. Nevertheless, it compares very favorably to the P20 series, which reportedly hit the 16 million units shipped mark in roughly nine months. Don’t be surprised if the P30 series hits the 20 million unit mark in the same time-frame, then.
It’s easy to see why consumers are flocking to the P30 series, with the Lite model consistently offering a fair amount of value for money. But HUAWEI has also delivered one of the better flagships of 2019 in the P30 Pro.
The P30 Pro serves up a 4,200mAh battery with 40W charging, a Kirin 980 processor, and a 5x periscope zoom camera. HUAWEI has also adopted an RYYB sensor for its 40MP primary camera, enabling class-leading low-light performance in the process.
HUAWEI faces a major sales challenge with the Mate 30 series though, as it reportedly lacks pre-installed Google services. This means the firm might be forced to delay the release until it gains certification, or it might have to launch the devices without Google support.
