TL;DR
  • NBCUniversal’s Peacock service will be available on Fire TV devices and Fire tablets.
  • You can stream free and paid tiers on your Amazon devices as of June 24.
  • You’ll have access to both live programming and on-demand shows like The Office.

Peacock has finally reached Amazon devices roughly a year after its debut. NBCUniversal is making Peacock available on Fire TV hardware and Fire tablets as of June 24.

As on other platforms, Peacock on Fire devices gives you the option to watch a limited selection of TV shows and movies for free, or the whole catalog through a $4.99 Premium subscription. Pay $9.99 per month and Premium Plus removes ads from most content, outside of Peacock channels and a handful of on-demand videos.

The Peacock app will run on the entire Fire TV device lineup, including budget hardware like the Fire TV Stick Lite and Amazon-powered smart TVs. NBCU didn’t outline Fire tablet compatibility, but you can use Alexa to control the service.

The allure remains the same for Peacock on Fire TV as it does elsewhere. You’ll have access to catalog material like The Office and Harry Potter as well as recent shows, including originals like Girls5eva and Where’s Waldo. It’s effectively a challenger to services like HBO Max and Hulu, just with lower-cost options that could save you a significant outlay if you’re willing to endure commercials.
