Pebble unveils new prices

Pebble has been making a serious name for themselves in the smartwatch world. If you’re not in the wrist-tech action right now, this could be your chance: the company is announcing new prices for the Pebble Time and the Pebble Time Round. That means if you’re looking to dive headfirst into smartwatches or upgrade your current pebble to the latest model, the price hurdle just got a bit lower.

It looks like the Pebble Time is now going for $149.99. This knocks fifty bucks off its introductory price of $200, and makes it a much more affordable option across the board. If boxy isn’t really your gig, then you’re more than welcome to fork over a little extra for the Pebble Time Round. Initially, this device cost $250, but the company has likewise knocked $50 off that price tag to bring it down to $199.99.

Pebble is of course looking to move more smartwatches with these reduced prices, but the company also claims that they’re attempting to get more devices into users’ hands (or, more accurately, onto their wrists) for health reasons. Pebble Health is a step and sleep tracking feature that Pebble claims has been activated on over 90% of its Time-series devices, and that two-thirds of these users put it to work on a weekly basis. Their belief is that their product is helping people live healthier, more active lifestyles in addition to looking fashionable and putting a bunch of cool technology right at your fingertips.
