These days there are a ton of brands to choose from when looking for a power bank, with Pisen being just one of your options. Many consumers know and trust the Chinese company’s battery charging products, but did you know that Pisen actually invented the power bank?
While the company was officially formed in 2003, things really started to heat up in 2004 when the company was asked to solve a special problem for the members of the Chinese Antarctic Expedition. Batteries in extreme cold can run down much more quickly, so the members of the expedition needed a solution to keep their camera working. Pisen created its first external power bank prototype for this journey to the Antarctic, which solve the problem of powering up its cameras under cold conditions.
Pisen learned some lessons from that journey and in 2005 it launched its first commercial mobile power bank. With the launch of the first iPhone in 2007, demand for external power banks increased, and now Pisen is the leading provider of these products around the world. It also continues to innovate with new power bank products, including a 2 in 1 hand warmer power bank that can not only charge your phone, but can keep your hands warm during the winter as well.
In 2004 Pisen created power banks, but in 2018 Pisen is all about further refining its consumer-facing solutions. At CES 2018 the China-based company will be revealing three new products designed to help extend the life of smartphone batteries.
First up, we have a new ultra-slim power bank that is just .5-inches thick and yet can still power up two devices at a time. It also has a beautiful aluminum alloy material in a palm size, along with an LED screen that can show the exact power status of the battery on demand.
Another new product to be revealed at CES 2018 is a new wireless charging pad for phones that support the QI wireless charging standard. It has a slim design that’s just 1.23 cm thick and weighs 72.5 grams. It also can handle fast charging modes for phones that support it, with 5V / 1.5A Input, and 5V / 1A Output. Finally, it has LED indicator lights to show the status of the charging.
Finally, Pisen will introduce another power bank at CES, the QC 3.0, but details of that product will be revealed later at the show.
For those heading to CES, the Pisen booth will offer you a chance to win some great prizes. The company will be giving out free screen protectors, free Pisen laser pens and free battery covers that work with the iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 series. It will also offer free battery replacement services.
