First look: The Pixel 11a breaks cover in purple finish

It’s only been about a month since Google launched the Pixel 11 series. Regardless, we’re already getting details about the company’s next phone, the Pixel 11a. A new leak has not only revealed the design, but also colors and specs.

A new report from Android Headlines has leaked the following renders of the Pixel 11a. Based on these images, Google is playing it safe and isn’t deviating far from last year’s design. There is a slight change to the camera module, which features a shorter oval shape than the one on the Pixel 10a.

It’s not just the design, but the dimensions are said to be similar as well. However, there’s just enough of a difference that your case for the Pixel 10a may not work on the Pixel 11a. That’s because the Pixel 11a is reportedly shorter than both the Pixel 10a and 9a. According to the leak, the dimensions will be 153.46 x 72.35 x 9mm. Comparatively, the Pixel 10a measures 153.9 x 73 x 9mm, while the Pixel 9a measures 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9mm.

Although the design is staying mostly the same, the internals aren’t. This year, it appears Google is giving its next A-series phone the Tensor G6 chip and MediaTek modem. That’s a big jump up from the Tensor G4 and Samsung modem featured in the Pixel 10a.

As for other upgrades, it seems we can look forward to a brighter screen. It’s reported that the peak brightness will be 3,350 nits, up from the previous 3,000 nits. The leak also mentions an upgrade to the front camera. However, there are no concrete details on what sensor Google may use.

It appears that the rear cameras could stay the same as last year. The size of the display may stay the same as well. Finally, the leak reveals that the color options may be black, silver, green, and purple. The price is said to be fluid, as fluctuating RAM costs could result in a price hike.
