The Pixel 9 series is finally here, and as expected, a significant focus during the launch event was on how the new Pixel phones leverage the capabilities of Gemini. To recap, Gemini Advanced is part of the Google One AI Premium subscription and boasts significant enhancements over the free version. Google also announced that Gemini Live will stay exclusive to Gemini Advanced subscribers at launch, which is another perk that Pixel 9 Pro buyers will be able to experience for free. Gemini Live offers a natural, free-flowing conversational experience with Google’s AI assistant, allowing for interruptions and topic changes mid-conversation, mimicking a real conversation.
The Google One AI Premium plan is typically priced at $19.99 per month, so Pixel 9 Pro buyers are getting a $240 benefit. The offer sounds like a classic move to boost pre-orders with a limited-time deal, but Google’s terms for the offer are pretty generous. There were some rumors that the base Pixel 9 might come with a shorter trial of Gemini Advanced, but it turns out that isn’t the case.
