Latest Pixel Buds update lets Gemini control your earbuds' settings

Google’s added a handy new feature to its Pixel Buds lineup. As of the latest update to the Pixel Buds app, it’s now possible to control new settings by voice. You can now adjust EQ settings, ANC mode, and more without having to touch your phone.

As spotted by 9to5Google, the newest version of the Pixel Buds companion app enables voice control of a wide range of earbud settings. Hands-free ANC and EQ controls are the most practical additions, but you’re also now able to adjust more niche settings using voice commands — for example, editing your earbuds’ touch controls.

Version 1.0.981607934 of the Pixel Buds app enables a new connection to Gemini that lets the assistant adjust connected earbuds’ settings. The Gemini app specifically mentions controlling things “like EQ preset, ANC mode, conversation detection, and touch controls,” but that may not be an exhaustive list.

The latest version of the Pixel Buds app is rolling out now via the Play Store. These new voice control features require the Gemini app.
