Google brings Nest Cam and Doorbell live feeds and other smart controls to the Pixel Watch 3

In addition to an upgraded Wear OS and fitness tracking experience, Google’s newest wearable, the Pixel Watch 3, delivers increased integration to users’ wrists, bolstering the device’s day-to-day capabilities. These features capitalize on existing Pixel and Google devices and services to streamline tasks and offer more tools on device.

Starting with Google Nest, Pixel Watch 3 users can access live feeds of their Nest Doorbell and cameras and communicate through the smartwatch with visitors such as delivery service workers. The Pixel Watch will receive a notification when someone arrives and offer users the option to use their device to manage the interaction.

Similarly, the Pixel Watch 3 can also be used as a remote for your Google TV. If your standard remote is out of reach, you can access playback controls, including play, pause, and volume adjustment, right from your wrist.

The device also integrates with Pixel phone tools to offer new features, including improved camera controls and Call Assist, which screens unwanted phone calls. The watch even adds Pixel’s Recorder app, a popular tool for taking voice notes on the go. Finally, thanks to the device’s built-in UWB chip, the watch can also unlock your smartphone and even be used as a digital car key.

Finally, on the fitness tracking front, the Pixel Watch 3 is also compatible with popular workout equipment such as Peloton bikes and treadmills. For outdoor sessions, the device boasts offline Google Maps for saved runs and planned routes. If you tend to pair your workout with a pump-up playlist, the device will also offer tighter integration between media controls and fitness data screens, making it easier to manage your tunes as you sweat.
