- The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon Unite will shut down on March 23, 2027.
- The shutdown affects both the mobile and Nintendo Switch versions.
- A special in-game event will start on November 12, 2026, and run until the game shuts down next year.
Pokémon Unite was one of the most loved Pokémon games on Android when it first launched back in 2021. You could play as your favorite Pokémon and join 5v5 battles against other players. However, the game has been declining in popularity for a while, and the developers have decided to shut it down.
The Pokémon Company has confirmed that the once-popular Pokémon MOBA is shutting down on March 23, 2027 (via Droid-Life). The shutdown applies to both mobile and Nintendo Switch versions of the game.
You can still play the game until it shuts down, and the developers are holding a special event to thank players. That event will be included in a final update scheduled for release on November 12, 2026. During this event, which will run from November 12 until the scheduled shutdown, players can exchange their coins to purchase old items, including Holowear and Unite licenses that have appeared in the game to date.
Meanwhile, the developers are suspending several in-app purchases as the game approaches its shutdown. Starting October 27, players can’t buy Aeos gems or a new UNITE Club membership. However, players can use their existing Aeos gems and UNITE Club memberships until the end of service.
The developers also confirmed that the scheduled Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo Competitive Tournament will proceed as expected, with qualifiers scheduled to start on December 5, 2026. The developers are also adding a “library” feature in the game. Users can download their library data before the March 23 deadline and use it to view “certain records and in-game content” even after the game shuts down.
