Rad Power's new e-bike and trailer system might convince you to sell your car
- Rad Power just launched a new e-bike in the RadRunner 3 Plus.
- It is also launching a new Rad Trailer system with attachable components.
- The new e-bike, combined with the trailer, could cart you, a friend, a pet, and some groceries.
We’ve written before about how e-bikes should be viewed as a car replacement, and now we have what could be the ultimate car-replacement kit. Today, Rad Power announced the RadRunner 3 Plus and the Rad Trailer system for carting cargo.
The RadRunner 3 Plus is a fully customizable e-bike. You can swap out the rear rack with either cargo systems or a seat, with the latter allowing you to take a passenger with you. There are also numerous other accessories available, including baskets, drink holders, and a brand new lockable center console for keeping your valuables safe.
Rad Power is also developing an optional secondary battery system, which would be a first for the brand. In the future, you could have a second battery underneath the rear rack and literally double your range.
The coolest new product from the brand, however, is the Rad Trailer. This universal trailer system will work on pretty much any Rad Power bike, including the new RadRunner 3 Plus. The trailer itself is basically a flatbed for simple carting needs. You can attach other accessories to this flatbed, such as the Pet Insert (shown in the image at the top of this article) and the Cargo Bin for carting all sorts of things.
If you buy the new Rad Runner with a basket and attach the Rad Trailer with the Pet Insert, you could feasibly cart you, a friend, a pet, and your groceries, all on one e-bike. Who needs a car?
The RadRunner 3 Plus is available now for $2,499 (CA $2,999 / €2,499 / £2,199). The Rad Trailer is only available for pre-order in the US and will sell for $299, while the Pet Insert (also a US exclusive) will cost $229.
