Razer reveals the release date for the Razer Edge and Razer Edge 5G
- Razer has confirmed the launch date for its Razer Edge handhelds.
- Both versions of the Razer Edge will release on January 26 in the US.
- The Razer Edge will be available on Razer’s website and store locations, while the Edge 5G will be available on Verizon’s website and store locations.
First officially announced last year at Mobile World Congress Las Vegas and fully revealed a month later at RazerCon, Razer has finally given its upcoming Razer Edge handhelds a release date.
Among Razer’s announcements at CES, the brand revealed that it will be releasing both versions of its Android-powered gaming handheld in the next few weeks on January 26.
As we reported earlier, the Razer Edge and Razer Edge 5G are products made in collaboration with Razer, Qualcomm, and Verizon. Both devices sport a 6.8-inch 144Hz OLED screen (2,400 x 1,080) and rely on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3X Gen 1 SoC. Razer states that its handheld is designed with “active cooling for long gaming sessions playing top AAA titles and native games on the go.”
In addition, both models come equipped with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, and a 5MP front-facing camera. It also includes Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6E support, and 3.5mm support via the controller.
If you’re interested in picking one up for yourself, you’ll need to know beforehand which version you want as they’ll be sold in two different places. Razer states that the Razer Edge (Wi-Fi) will be available for $400 on Razer.com and the company’s store locations.
The Razer Edge 5G model, on the other hand, will be sold exclusively on Verizon.com and at Verizon store locations. Razer didn’t reveal what the price point will be for the Razer Edge 5G.
