There’s a new pair of affordable Apple AirPods clones making their way to the market in the form of the realme Buds Air Neo.

As first reported by 91mobiles, the realme Buds Air Neo are expected to be a cheaper version of the realme Buds Air. These aren’t the first paid of affordable AirPods alternatives, and they certainly won’t be the last. However, based on the specs, they may be worth keeping an eye on.

At first glance, they look exactly like the original buds (which looks quite like the Apple AirPods), but they lose some features offered by the original earbuds to get to a yet-unannounced lower price point. Mainly, they come with MicroUSB charging instead of USB-C, and they drop the wireless charging capabilities. Both are useful features, but they also increase the price substantially.

Outside of the significant changes, these promise a 17-hour battery life, which we have to assume is the lifespan for the case. No true wireless earbuds have achieved anywhere close to that on their own (the AirPods get approximately 4.5 hours of listening time without their charging case).

The buds will also have an R1 chip with Bluetooth 5.0 support and realme’s Game Mode, which is said to reduce latency by as much as 51%. There are also respectable 13mm speakers.

realme Buds Air Neo are also slated to have an optical sensor that determines their position within the user’s ear.

As of this writing, a price and release date were not available for the realme Buds Air Neo, as the company hasn’t made its official announcement.
