realme GT hits global markets: Get a flagship phone for a crazy promo price

realme teased the realme GT’s wider launch earlier this month, saying it would be one of the cheapest Snapdragon 888 devices available to global users. Now, the manufacturer has indeed launched the phone in markets outside China.

The new flagship is equipped with a Snapdragon 888 SoC, a 6.43-inch 120Hz OLED panel, 8GB to 12GB of RAM, and 128GB to 256GB of storage. realme’s device also packs a 4,500mAh battery backed by 65W charging. This combo means you can get a full charge in just 35 minutes.

Photography is handled by a triple rear camera, featuring a 64MP main shooter, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro lens. Selfies are handled by a 16MP sensor in a cutout.

Other notable specs include a 3.5mm port, stereo speakers, a GT mode for better performance, and Android 11 (along with access to the Android 12 beta).

As for pricing, the 12GB/256GB realme GT will be available from June 21 for €599 (~$726) on the official realme website as well as other participating channels, with a promotional price of €499 (~$605) during Prime Day (from June 21). This particular model will be available in Dashing Silver, Dashing Blue, and the vegan leather-clad Racing Yellow.

Meanwhile, the 8GB/128GB version will be available at a special price of €369 (~$447) via AliExpress, with this promotion lasting from June 21-25. The regular price is quite a step up, coming in at €449 (~$545).

Nevertheless, a company source previously told Android Authority that the global device would have “almost the same price as in China.” The phone launched in its home market for ~$439. So it sounds like the source may have been referring to the global variant’s promo price for the 8GB/128GB model rather than the permanent price.

The new flagship is available in a select few countries, including Poland, Spain, Russia, and Thailand. realme says more markets will follow.
