realme packs a two-week battery, GPS into its bigger budget smartwatch
- realme has launched the Watch 2 Pro.
- It’s essentially an upgraded version of the original realme Watch 2.
- The smartwatch packs plenty of fitness tracking features, a large display, GPS, and a two-week battery.
It’s been a little over a month since realme unveiled the Watch 2, its take on the budget fitness smartwatch. But for those wanting more from their wearable, the company has now unveiled the realme Watch 2 Pro.
Visually, the Watch 2 Pro doesn’t differ much from its non-Pro sibling. A single button sits on the watch’s right-hand side. Two removable silicone strap options are also included, namely light grey and black.
The Watch 2 Pro does feature a larger display than the Watch 2, measuring 1.75-inch from corner to corner. It’s denser, too, with a 320 x 385 resolution compared to the Watch 2’s 240 x 240 panel. The Watch 2 Pro’s screen also features a 30Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness. This should make glossing stats outdoors a breeze.
As for fitness smarts, the Watch 2 Pro arrives with tracking for up to 90 activities. GPS support also features for runners and cyclists. It also packs an SpO2 sensor and a continuous heart rate monitor. Sleep tracking, sedentary reminders, water intake notifications, and a meditation feature are also present.
Other niceties include a 390mAh battery good for a claimed 14 days between charges and some rudimentary smartwatch functionality with over 100 faces. The Watch 2 Pro is also IP68 rated.
realme Watch 2 Pro: Price and availability
The Watch 2 Pro is officially available in Malaysia for 299 Malaysian ringgit (~$72). That’s considerably cheaper than the Watch 2’s 229 Malaysian ringgit (~$56) sticker price. For avid runners on a budget, the Watch 2 Pro could be a much cheaper gateway alternative to more serious GPS watches. However, its global pricing and availability details remain a mystery for now.
