realme XT launched: India's first 64MP smartphone retails for under $250
Realme pledged to beat Xiaomi to the Indian market with a 64MP smartphone, and it’s done just that with the realme XT.
The upstart brand has launched the device in India today, and you’re getting a phone with a quad rear camera setup (64MP primary, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro) and a 16MP selfie camera in a waterdrop notch.
Other noteworthy specs include a Snapdragon 712 processor, 4,000mAh battery with 20W charging, and a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The realme XT goes on sale from September 16 via the realme store and Flipkart, starting at 15,999 rupees (~$225) for the 4GB/64GB model. The 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB variants of the phone will retail for 16,999 rupees (~$239) and 18,999 rupees (~$267) respectively.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s own 64MP phone, the Redmi Note 8 Pro, is only expected to arrive in the market by the end of October or beginning of November.
