The Redmi K30 launch is less than a week away and we now have some new information about it, directly from Redmi itself. According to the official Redmi Weibo account, the device will feature a big battery with incredibly-fast charging time.

If Redmi’s announcement is accurate, the Redmi K30’s 4,500mAh battery will charge from empty to full in just one hour via the 30W wired charger. Obviously, we’ll need to test this ourselves first before we accept it as gospel, but it’s still pretty awesome to think about.

For the sake of comparison, most flagships these days come with batteries about that size or smaller. The OnePlus 7 Pro, for example, has a 4,000mAh battery, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus features a 4,300mAh battery. The ASUS Zenfone 6 tops them all with a 5,000mAh battery.

But battery size isn’t everything. That one-hour charging time is important as it will enable you to quickly top up and not need to worry about running out later in the day.

As far as the other specs we’ve heard about so far about the Redmi K30, we expect it to have a 6.66-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Redmi, a Xiaomi sub-brand, previously confirmed that the device will carry Xiaomi’s MIUI 11 out of the box.

The company also suggests that the device will be 5G-capable and relatively inexpensive. It won’t be the cheapest 5G-ready phone on the market, but it won’t be a wallet-buster, either.
