Redmi flagship leak promises a 200MP powerhouse
- Specs of the Redmi K50S Pro have leaked.
- Key highlights include a 200MP camera, a 5,000mAh battery, 120W charging, and a 120Hz display.
Specs of the upcoming Redmi K50S Pro have leaked. Xiaomi has already teased the new K50 series, so we know that it exists and will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC. A regulatory listing of an unnamed Xiaomi phone was also spotted recently, revealing a super high-resolution camera. Confirming all the speculation, tipster Yogesh Brar has now posted the complete specs of the Redmi K50S Pro on Twitter.
If the leak is accurate, the new Redmi flagship is shaping up to be quite a powerhouse. It’s rumored to get a 200MP main camera, a first for any Xiaomi phone. It’s also expected to pack other noteworthy attributes such as 120W fast charging, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 120Hz display.
An 8MP ultrawide shooter and a 2MP macro lens are expected to complete the rear camera setup. On the front, a 20MP sensor is said to take care of selfies.
Additionally, the K50S Pro is believed to offer 8GB and 12GB RAM variants combined with 128GB and 256GB storage. Dual speakers and an in-display fingerprint sensor conclude the list of leaked specs.
The Redmi K50S series will join the previously launched Redmi K50, K50 Pro, and K50 Gaming phones. The former two are MediaTek flagships and pack the Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 9000 chips, respectively. The Redmi K50 Gaming sported the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, so technically, the K50S and K50S Pro are its successors with a bigger battery, upgraded silicon, and a higher resolution primary camera.
For now, the Redmi K50S series will debut in China. However, Xiaomi is known to rebrand devices in this line and launch them internationally as POCO phones. For instance, the Redmi K50 Gaming phone was launched globally as the POCO F4 GT. We’re yet to see the K50 phones appear in markets other than China, but it won’t be wrong to presume a 200MP POCO device could show up sometime in the future. We’ll just have to wait and watch.
