How to report someone on Discord
In most cases, reporting other users on a platform like Discord is a last-ditch sort of thing. You don’t go around reporting people you think are cheating, as you do in multiplayer videogames. If users are abusive, harass other users, send an over-the-top amount of spam, or act discordantly with Discord’s community guidelines, you can go to their support page and report them manually. Let’s recap how to report someone on Discord.

QUICK ANSWER
To report someone on Discord, enable Developer Mode in User Settings. After that, return to the message you want to report, right-click it, and select Copy ID. Go to Discord Support in a browser and create a new request, then post the message ID in the Description box at the bottom.
JUMP TO KEY SECTIONS
Let’s get this out of the way first: you can’t just report someone because you feel like it. You must provide evidence of their misbehavior and then submit it to Discord.
More specifically, you must go into User Settings and enable Developer Mode to see the Copy ID button on specific messages. Clicking that will copy the ID of that message to your clipboard, which you can then send to Discord as proof of harassment, abusive conduct, or whatever else you are accusing that user of.
If they have done nothing to warrant platform-level disciplinary action, you will have a tough time reporting them.

Next, scroll down to the APP SETTINGS section and click Advanced.
In the Advanced menu, click the Developer Mode slider if it is grey. When it turns green, you have enabled Developer Options.

User ID
To copy someone’s user ID, all you have to do is right-click their name bar anywhere. From the subsequent dropdown menu, click Copy ID.
Submit the evidence and the report
You must complete this final “reporting” stage in a browser.
Go to the Discord Support website. From the options along the very top of the site, click Submit a request.
On the Submit a request page, click the dropdown menu underneath What can we help you with? and select Trust & Safety.
Under How can we help?, select the option that best describes why you are reporting that user: Report abuse or harassment, Report spam, or Report other issue.
Beyond here is a massive branching menu. For example, if you click Report abuse or harassment, six more options will appear under What would you like to report?. If you click Cyberbullying or harassment, five more options will appear under In what way? and so on.
Keep filling out the options until you see an empty field under Message Link (i.e., https://discord.com/channels/XXXXXX/XXXXXX/XXXXXX). Enter the message link you copied earlier in this box.
In the Description box, paste the message ID and user ID you copied earlier. Enter any additional details you want Discord to know, then click Submit.

Does reporting someone get them banned?
It can, but only if the discord server’s moderators decide to ban them. Bots can also ban accounts from servers that break serious rules. If you don’t want to interact or see activity from that person, even though they aren’t banned, it’s a good idea to mute or block them.
