How to boot into safe mode on the Samsung Galaxy S10

Here's how to boot into safe mode on the Samsung Galaxy S10 phones, in case something has gone wrong with the smartphone.

You might encounter an issue with your Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone that will cause it to slow down or even freeze on you. It’s possible that an app might be the cultprit, but in order to see if a third party app is an issue, you might need to put the phone into Safe Mode.

What is safe mode? Basically, it’s a clean mode that only lets first party apps run. That means if your problem went away in this mode, a third party app is the cause.

Here are two ways to boot into safe mode on the Samsung Galaxy S10.

The first method to boot into safe mode is if your Galaxy S10 is powered up.

1. Press down and hold on the Power button (on the right-hand side of the phone) until you see the Power off icon.

2. Press and hold on the Power Off icon until you see the Safe Mode icon.

3. Tap on the Safe Mode icon and the Galaxy S10 will begin going into that mode.

4. The phone should come on again and you should see a Safe mode indicator at the bottom left side of the screen.

5. After you fix your problem with your phone, just tap and hold on the Power button again and boot the phone back up in normal mode.

If the phone is powered down and you want to put it in Safe Mode, here’s what you should do with the Galaxy S10:

1. Press and hold on the Power button. The phone should vibrate and you should see the “Samsung Galaxy S10” logo screen.

2. Release the Power button and then, while the “Samsung Galaxy S10” logo screen is still visible, press and hold on the Volume down button on the left side of the phone.

3. Keep holding onto the Volume down button until you see the home screen with the Safe mode indicator at the bottom left side of the screen.

5. After you fix your problem with your phone, just tap and hold on the Power button again and boot the phone back up in normal mode.
