Rumor: Here's when Samsung's Android 13 beta program could start
- A new rumor suggests the Samsung Android 13 beta program could open in the third week of July.
- This software test would be for One UI 5.0.
- Allegedly, the stable launch could land as quickly as October 2022.
Google already has Android 13 betas available for the majority of its Pixel phones. However, Pixels represent a tiny fraction of the overall Android market. The big dog is Samsung, which is the largest smartphone manufacturer globally. So far, though, Samsung hasn’t participated in any Android 13 betas for what we assume would be One UI 5.0.
That could change quite soon. According to a new rumor from SamMobile, the Samsung Android 13 beta could open in the third week of July. It’s unclear which phones would support this initial rollout, but previous beta programs only supported the latest Galaxy S phones. In this case, that would likely be the Galaxy S22 series.

In previous years, Samsung has rolled out beta support to other phones on its roster a few weeks later. This would invariably include the Galaxy S21 series, among others.
Now, don’t take this all to the bank just yet. SamMobile cites an anonymous source for this claim, and the publication has been wrong in the past. However, a late-July launch makes sense to us, so we’re inclined to believe this rumor.
Additionally, the source claims the Samsung Android 13 beta rollout could lead to a stable launch in October 2022. This would be right around the time we expect Google to launch the Pixel 7 series. If Samsung makes this happen, it would represent one of its earliest stable launches for an Android upgrade ever.
Stay tuned, as we will likely have more info on this launch soon.
