Samsung launches Galaxy A10s: A rival to low-end Redmi, realme phones?

Samsung has put plenty of effort into its A-series this year, and it seems like the move has paid off already. Now, the company has announced the Galaxy A10s, ostensibly one of the cheapest phones in its A-series.

The Galaxy A10s packs an unnamed octa-core processor (XDA reports that this is the budget-minded Helio P22), 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage.

Samsung’s new phone also delivers a 6.2-inch HD+ screen (1,520 x 720, TFT), with a waterdrop notch. Photography is handled by a 13MP f/1.8 main camera and 2MP depth sensor on the rear, and an 8MP front-facing camera.

Other specs worth knowing include a 4,000mAh battery, rear fingerprint scanner, camera-based face unlock, Android Pie, and dual-SIM support.

The Galaxy A10s specs put it roughly in line with the Redmi 6 and realme C2, as they also offer the Helio P22 and dual rear cameras. We don’t have official pricing (or availability) for the new phone just yet though, but we’ve contacted Samsung for more information. Nevertheless, SamMobile reports that the device will hit India for 8,990 rupees (~$126).
