Samsung launches a phone with a 5,000mAh battery for under $300
- The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G launched today.
- The star feature of the budget phone is its enormous 5,000mAh battery.
- It costs $299 and is available starting now.
One of the best features of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is its very large battery. At 5,000mAh, it’s large enough to power you through an entire day, even if you’re doing a lot of gaming and streaming.
However, the Galaxy S22 Ultra starts at $1,199, so it isn’t exactly wallet-friendly. Thankfully, we now have the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G. It offers the same battery capacity as we saw in the Galaxy S22 Ultra but at literally a quarter of the price.
Samsung Galaxy A23 5G: What do you get?
Although the star feature of the Galaxy A23 5G is its gargantuan battery, it does have a lot of other things going for it. It has a 6.6-inch display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, which isn’t a powerhouse but does offer 5G support.
Elsewhere, it has 64GB of internal storage which you can augment with a microSD card up to 1TB.
On the back of the phone, you’ll find a quad-lens camera system. This is highlighted by a 50MP main shooter, although Samsung is mum so far on what the other lenses are.
Basically, the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G delivers the fundamental basics most people need for a decent smartphone experience.
Pricing and availability
The Galaxy A23 5G is priced to move. Samsung will sell it unlocked for just $299, making it one of the cheapest ways to get 5G access.
The phone comes in just one color (black) and is available now directly from Samsung.com. You can also get one from T-Mobile or AT&T if you’d prefer to shop through your carrier.
