TL;DR
  • Samsung has announced the Galaxy A32.
  • The 5G phone sports clean rear lines in a similar vein to the LG Velvet.
  • It’ll retail for 279 in Europe.

Our first glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy A32 arrived in December. Those leaked renders suggested Samsung would take a leaf out of LG’s design book. Now, the phone has made its official debut sporting a clean design.

The headline feature of the Galaxy A32 is its 5G connectivity. It’s now one of the company’s cheapest devices to support the technology.

Other chief features include a 6.5-inch display with a V-shaped notch up top. The phone is powered by an unnamed octa-core chipset with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. There’s a microSD card to boot, too. A 5,000mAh battery powers the package while 15W charging is supported.

But the real eye-catching feature is the rear plate. Samsung’s employing four pastel colorways, namely Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Blue, and Awesome Violet. These shades highlight the lack of a large rear camera hump. Instead, each of the four lenses stands separately, much like the LG Velvet. This might be one of Samsung’s most attractive smartphones to date and offers a stark contrast to the stout profile of the Galaxy S21 series.

As for the sensors behind those lenses, Samsung’s headlining with a 48MP snapper. An 8MP wide-angle lens, 5MP macro sensor and 2MP depth camera also feature. A 13MP selfie camera is employed around the front.

The Samsung Galaxy A32 is now available in some European markets starting at 279 (~$338). This makes it the firm’s cheapest 5G phone. It also pits it against the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite which wins on paper with 2GB additional RAM, a more impressive display, and a larger main camera sensor. But if you’re looking for an LG Velvet lookalike and don’t want to fork out $599, the Galaxy A32 might be an option.
