Samsung Galaxy A5 price, size, and specs leaked by retailer
Over the past month we have been hearing, and seeing, snapshots of Samsung’s extending range of metallic smartphones – the Galaxy A series. Now we have a few more confirmed details about the Galaxy A5, courtesy of a leak from a Kazakhstan retailer.
The retailer prematurely listed the Galaxy A5 in a catalogue, along with a spec sheet and a price tag. The swanky metal case won’t come cheap, the Galaxy A5 is set to retail for 99,990 KZT. This works out at roughly €435 or $550, assuming flat exchange rate costs, which is a little more expensive than previous rumors suggested.
As for the hardware, the listing mentions a miscellaneous 1.2GHz quad-core processor, previously rumored to be a Snapdragon 400, a 13 megapixel rear facing camera, a microSD card for additional storage, and Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box. Previous spec rumors also suggest 16GB of internal memory and a 2330 mAh battery. We also have the dimension and weight of the Galaxy A5: 5.48 x 2.74 x 0.28″ (139.3 x 69.7 x 7 mm) and 4.33oz (123g).
The catalogue that the specs came from is set to remain in circulation until November 11th, so we can probably expect to hear an official announcement from Samsung in the next couple of weeks. Do you think that the hardware and partial metal finish justify the Galaxy A5’s expected high price tag?
