TL;DR
  • Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A series mid-ranger has leaked in full.
  • The phone promises 5G connectivity, a new Exynos chip, and a beefier battery.

Samsung’s A-series phones are some of its most popular devices, raking in robust numbers year after year. The Galaxy A52 5G and the Galaxy A51 before it were two highly successful mid-rangers and it looks like Samsung is all geared up to continue that winning streak this year around with the Galaxy A53 5G.

Information divulged by Winfuture’s Roland Quandt matches a previous regulatory listing of the phone. The latest leak confirms that the Samsung Galaxy A53 will build upon the legacy of its predecessor, albeit with a brand new, unannounced Exynos chip most likely called the Exynos 1200. The octa-core SoC is said to reach maximum clock speeds of 2.4GHz. There’s no word about a Snapdragon variant of the phone.

Besides a new silicon at its heart, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A53 5G also promises a high 120Hz refresh rate and a 6.5-inch AMOLED display. It’s essentially the same screen as the Galaxy A52 5G.

Other specs that remain unchanged include a quad-camera setup consisting of a 64MP sensor, a 12MP ultrawide shooter, and two 5MP cameras for depth and macro shots. The selfie snapper is once again a 32MP camera.

Seems like Samsung is not messing much with the formula given it worked so well for it last year. However, one thing that does get an upgrade is the battery. The leak suggests you’ll get a 5,000mAh battery on the Galaxy A53 5G compared to the 4,500mAh battery on the Galaxy A52 5G. More juice is always welcome and paired with the new Samsung SoC, we might see some decent improvements to power consumption.

Elsewhere, you can expect 6 or 8GB of RAM paired with at least 128GB of expandable storage.
