It feels like we’ve been waiting for commercially available foldable phones for ages, but Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy Fold in Korea (with more markets coming this month).

A foldable phone doesn’t mean much if there are no apps to take full advantage of the design. We can obviously expect Samsung’s apps to be adapted for the various screens, but the company has just announced that “hundreds of apps” have been updated for the Galaxy Fold.

Some of the more prominent apps to receive an update include Amazon Prime Video, App in the Air, Facebook, iHeartRadio, Office, Spotify, Twitter, and VSCO.

So how are these apps taking advantage of the Galaxy Fold? Most of the developers didn’t issue any details in this regard, although both Amazon and iHeartRadio singled out multi-window support (Amazon also stated support for multi-resume). This suggests that multi-tasking and app continuity between screens will be a big focus for these apps.

Samsung didn’t reveal any other apps that have been updated to take advantage of the foldable design, but we can undoubtedly expect Google to update some of its apps. Hopefully top apps like WhatsApp, Netflix, VLC, and Adobe’s apps are updated for the Fold too.
