Samsung Galaxy Note 8 launching late August, on sale September, confirms CEO
Samsung mobile CEO DJ Koh has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 8 will launch in late August, as had been rumored. Koh, whose real name is Koh Dong-jin, made the comments at a recent media event in Taiwan.
As reported by ePrice, Koh said that the phone would go on sale between September and October. The Investor subsequently reported that the new flagship would land in the US and UK in September, before arriving to other territories in October.
Previous speculation suggested that the Note 8 would be revealed either mid-August or August 26 at a New York event. Mid-August is now ruled out, but the New York reveal may still be on the cards. Alternatively, the phone could launch just before the start of IFA 2017 in Berlin; Android devices have often been unveiled in the press days preceding IFA’s opening to the public, as the LG V30 is expected to this year.
The Galaxy Note 8 has much to prove after the Note 7 disaster last year, but current rumors indicate it’s going to be an impressive handset. The Note 8 is anticipated to arrive with a 6.3-inch, QHD, OLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio, dual-lens rear camera, iris scanner and a bezel-less design. This in addition to the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and stacks of RAM.
