TL;DR
  • A recent Verizon leak suggests the carrier will roll out a buy-one-get-one-free offer on the Galaxy Note 9.
  • A promo image for the deal was spotted in the Verizon app, though it didn’t reveal the price or release date.
  • If it’s legit, the offer will likely apply to new lines only, with savings paid back as bill credit over 24 months.

Verizon might be gearing up for one of its famous buy-one-get-one-free (BOGOF) pre-order offers on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Droid Life recently spotted leaked promo materials in the Verizon app which suggested as much, though it didn’t provide anything regarding the Note 9’s price or release date.

This could be good news for fans nonetheless as Samsung’s upcoming Note, set to be unveiled this Thursday, is tipped to be a pricey beast. If you know another person who’s keen and happy to take out a contract with Verizon, it could be a solid prospect.

That said, if it’s anything like previous Verizon BOGOF deals, there will be caveats: the offer may be available only if you open two new lines with the carrier, and savings will probably be paid back in installments over 24 months.

We don’t have a confirmed price for the Galaxy Note 9 yet, nor a confirmed release date, but we have some speculation to go on. Samsung will almost certainly release it before the end of August, likely within the next two weeks, and for around $900. In Korea, the phone is said to cost the same as the Note 8 when it launched in 2017. If this applies for the U.S. also, that would put the Note 9 at $929.
