- The next entry in the Galaxy Note series may be announced in New York City at a Samsung “Unpacked” press event.
- The same report claims the Note 9 will have an upgraded camera and processor.
We may be just over two months away from the official reveal of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. A new report from Bloomberg, citing unnamed sources, says the next entry in the large Galaxy Note series will be unveiled on August 9, during the latest Samsung “Unpacked” press event in New York City. That’s about two weeks earlier than the event held in August 2017 that first revealed the Galaxy Note 8.
The same report also claims that the Note 9 will include an upgraded camera, along with a upgraded processor from Qualcomm. The story did not offer any additional details, but it’s likely that the processor could be the Snapdragon 845, which is an improvement compared to the Snapdragon 835 chip inside the Galaxy Note 8. As far as the camera, it’s likely that the Note 9 will have a dual rear sensor setup, and might include a variable aperture feature that’s found in the Galaxy S9 series. The report does say that the Note 9 might go on sale at the end of August, but added that time frame could change.
Earlier this week, an unconfirmed rumor claimed Samsung decided to slightly delay the launch of the Note 9, due to a change in the phone’s design so it could reduce the thickness of the glass that protects its OLED display by 0.5mm.
